QUINN'S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM!

I know it's long but, PLEASE READ AND ENJOY!
For those of you who have not yet had the privilege to meet my wonderful, special, older brother Quinn, he truly is a blessing to our family. He was born with Down Syndrome. He can't speak, but does some sign language he has learned and some he has made up himself. :) Our family has learned patients and what it means to really love unconditionally. Quinn doesn't care if you stink or your dirty, put deodorant on for the day; if you are pink, green, blue, black, brown or white, if your rich or poor, pretty or ugly...HE LOVES EVERYONE! Couldn't we all learn a little from his example...He is 43 years YOUNG. He lives at home with mom & dad, and goes to a learning work shop during the day. He enjoys Hot Wheel Car's, popcorn, the color Red, Chicken, his Birthday, and most of all... POP! Jeffery, since the day he met Quinn, has always taken him to get a Pepsi at Maverik and now it's just part of their routine! If he doesn't take him right when he gets there, Quinn pouts until he does. We love him soooo much and could never imagine life without our Quinn!
Quinn with Grandma Belle

Quinn with Pat, one of mom's best friends and respite care giver for Quinn. One of Quinn's very favorite people!

Quinn after his program giving Karson a hug. He is an awesome Uncle!

Quinn with some of his classmates. Quinn is so full of energy and life all the time.

oh...and he loves to pull faces. He likes other people to pull faces back at him.

They sang several songs during the program and told funny jokes. Quinn was Pinocchio in the song "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"

Patty, Grandma Belle, Mom and Karson

Quinn was laughing at his teacher (the girl on the right). She was trying to get him to put his Pinocchio sign down after his part and he wouldn't. Then after he did, he picked it up again. We all laughed!

I am so proud of Quinn and I feel very lucky to have him as my brother.
Quinn and I are 17 years apart, with no one in between, so when I was born, my mom said he couldn't have been more proud. She said everytime the door bell rang, even if I was asleep, he would go in and get me and carry me to the door to show me off.
What a great brother I have!

He is REAL!!!

Kyson pulled his beard and it didn't move and he said, "he is REAL Karson!" Jeffery and I could have just died! We had to have a little talk about pulling Santa's beard. But we kind of laughed inside by the way he said it. It's kinda sad to know your 6 year old will soon not believe in Santa!

WE MAY HAVE FOUND A NEW JOB!!!

Here is the finished product... the Christmas lights on our house are done. You can't tell in this picture but, the pitches on our house are very steep! In fact pretty much every house in Harvest Park pitches are steep, making it impossible to get lights at the top UNLESS....you hire someone or..... ... USE A FORK LIFT!!

Jeramy operating the fork lift. It took them literally 10 min. to get the lights on after spending a whole after noon on the roof the day before, with one of Jeffery's workers, Alex, trying to hang them. They were all scared!

NOW, everyone that saw them, want them to put their lights up! :0) They put up lights on Jeramy's, their neighbor and Jana & Brandon's town home, and for anyone who has seen the roof on that sucker...WOW! you could probably see it from the freeway ha ha ha...They put them up for a single older lady in our neighbor hood and on a house that Jeffery, Jesse and Jeramy are working on (but that lady paid them). Her house has been a week long project. No joke! Because its a big house but, they wanted special lights and it done a special way. And actually, every house turned out really good! I told Jeffery, we may have found a new winter job for next year!!! Sign up early, slots are going fast! ;)

Our Family Pictures

Okay, so first off I have to say... we got them taken at Sam's Club. As I was walking out, a guy stopped me and asked if we would like a 16x20 photo for only $20. I said sure, I guess (cause i'm a huge push over) so we went back a week later and got them taken. I didn't like the photographer. He was sooooo inpatient and pretty much just snap, snap, snapped the camera and we were done. When we left, I just knew they weren't going to turn out! They ended up being better then I had expected, but, Im still not that pleased at all but oh well... here they are. :)
OUR FAMILY
(this was our 16x20)JEFFERY. LACEY. KYSON. KARSON AND WYATT ALVEY

YEP!....THEY ARE ALL "MOMMIES BOYS"!

MY BOYS!
THEY MAY BE MAMA'S BOYS, BUT THEY LOVE DADDY. HE'S THE FUN, PLAYFUL ONE!

Kyson's Christmas Program

The first graders at Mapleton Elementary and Hobble Creek Elementary were asked to sing at the Mapleton Park Lighting Ceremony. It was so cute. The kids all did a very good job and sang lots of songs. One of our favorites was the Reindeer Rap!

On the very last song, the kids sang "Here Comes Santa Clause" and Santa pulled up on the fire truck, lights, siren's and all! The kids were so excited. They could hardly make it through the song.

Jeffery & Lacey's Birthday

We went up to Celebrate our birthday's with my family. Our birthday's are one week apart so my parents took us out to dinner to our favorite restaurant, The Timbermine up by Ogden Canyon.
We got a PF Changs gift card and some decorations for our house. Jeffery got Hancock the movie from my brother Vance & Bre and they gave me Victoria's Secret Perfume and lotion. He also got a nice Elk clock to go in his office, another movie and a shirt. (His Birthday isn't until Dec. 5th so he didn't get all his gifts yet) I got a Bath & Body Works gift card, necklace and a watch. Jeffery and the kids gave me a really nice camera & I had my eyeliner tattooed on a month ago as one of my gifts!

Jeffery must be excited to blow out his candle!

I'm glad they only put ONE candle on. It didn't make me feel as old as TWENTY SIX candles would have! ha ha ha ha WOW...time flies! it could be worse...I could be older...like 28...LOL wink wink JK babe!

Wyatt with my parents! They are crazy about ALL of their grandkids! They are the best grandparents (and parents :) in the world!

Kyson's R.A.D. Kids Graduation

For those of you who don't know... R.A.D Kids is a Personal Empowerment Safty Program that helps the students know what to do when they are put in diffcult situations; like what to say when you call 911, escape routes & emergancy passwords, how to fight off strangers, and fire safty to name a few. Kyson LOVED going to R.A.D. Kids and is sad its over for the year :(
Grandma Mary drove down to see Kyson's R.A.D. Kids Graduation. He was so surprised when the door bell rang and she was standing there!
Grandma Lola & Grandpa Jim came to the graduation but had to leave right after it was over so we ran over to there house so Ky could get a picture with them...

We all are soooo proud of Kyson! He is a wonderful big brother and a great example! He has been teaching his brothers all about the Safety he has learned from R.A.D. Kids.

Ky getting all geared up to show us how he would fight off a stranger if someone tried to kidnap him. They had a Mapleton Police Officer come with Head to Toe padding on and let these 1st graders beat up on him. It was fun to watch them all and surprisingly they all are pretty good!
